SOCIAL WORK EDUCATION (2023)
This article outlines how a community and university partnership developed an innovative experiential and authentic course assignment for MSW students to learn more about trauma-informed practice from a critical perspective.
EATING DISORDERS (2022)
This paper used a structural perspective to examine unmet healthcare needs in women at risk for eating disorders in Canada utilizing the Canadian Community Health Survey. The results revealed that body dissatisfied women had reported significantly higher unmet needs compared to body satisfied women and more likely to identify structural reasons for unmet needs.
GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE (2023)
Child Protection and Intimate Partner Violence: Is the Family Service Act in New Brunswick Out of Date? (Cammaert & Dupré)
ThIs chapter examines how IPV intersects with child protection based on a Canadian provincial scan. We will discuss the recommendations in the Savoury Report(2 018), compare legislative definition of family violence and procedures of child protection, and then use the literature to recommend changes to the Family Services Act.
SOCIAL WORK EDUCATION (2024)
This chapter explores how nutritional social work can be an avenue for teaching in social work education about sustainability and the climate emergency.
SOCIAL WORK EDUCAITON
A mixed-methodological study, evaluating the impact of a 6-module, structurally Informed trauma-Informed course. Course integrates authentic learning strategies, structural and critical theories, & intersectional approached to practice, and experiential learning.
Currently in data collection.
EATING DISORDERS
A mixed-methodological study, evaluating the impact of a 5-module, eating disorder training for health and mental health professionals working with individuals with eating disorders in New Brunswick. Module content is complete. Currently solidifying survey and ethics.
SOCIAL WORK EDUCATION (2022)
This article introduces the area of nutritional social work, beyond the scope of food security and food injustice, from a critical, anti-oppressive and ecofeminist lens. The goal was not to present concrete frameworks but to initiate a discussion surrounding the relevance of nutritional social work and point in a number of possible directions for incorporation of this subdiscipline into social work praxis..
